Enclosed transport augers are used in agriculture and in the food and other industries for the horizontal or slightly upward transport of grains and other bulk materials. They offer a greater transport capacity, but cannot be opened up in case of a jam. These augers are suitable for inclined, or even vertical transport.

The great advantage of troughed transport augers is that jams can be cleared after removing their cover. They are usually installed horizontally, but can also be used inclined, with a maximum angle of 45^o.

The material to be transported is usually supplied to the intake hopper of the auger using a continuous conveyor, from where it is conveyed by the auger in the pipe/trough to the discharge outlet.

The material of the augers and their enclosure depends on the application area (for the food industry, for example, we recommend stainless, acid-resistant steel).

Augers can be used both indoors and outdoors.

Augers are not suitable for transporting fibrous materials or larger goods in pieces. They are moderately suitable or unsuitable for transporting hygroscopic materials (which coagulate or tend to absorb atmospheric humidity and moisture).
