Alex Kft. has been developing belt conveyors and other conveyor equipment that enable loading bulk goods into silos for 30 years. These silos primarily serve agriculture and the construction material sector. Our equipment is also widely used by merchant and logistics enterprises, as they offer a bulk transport capacity of 10-700 tonnes/hour (for 1 tonne/m3 specific weight) based on the products manufactured so far. The equipment can be mobile or fixed and can be used both indoors and outdoors.
Good solutions for filling silos have existed for some time; the offer of silo manufacturers usually includes material handling equipment as well. We have developed several variants for silos, for both maximal and optimal filling.
Optimal filling is determined by the surface height of the produce or – in the case of ventilation through the floor – the evenness of the surface. Our belt conveyors ensure uniform filling and their operation can be automated so that in the case of floor-level ventilation the ventilation pipes are always covered by a uniformly thick layer of produce, to ensure even drying. This is important in order to avoid subsequent warming. To ensure this, we manufacture our type B loading conveyors in accordance with the technology widely used in Western Europe.
If the objective is to fill the grain silo maximally, we recommend our ALEX suspended belt conveyors, whose working width can be between 400-1,000 mm. The longest conveyor we have built to date was 165 metres.
For maximal loading, the cross-section, shape, and dimensions of the silo are paramount. Another key criterion is the grid structure of the silo – if this is inadequate, the storage capacity is greatly reduced.
Depending on the width and height of the silo we recommend either our cross-belt (ALEX), two-way (B) and also crosswise two-way (B-C) belt conveyors. These solutions offer a globally unique opportunity for the better utilisation of inadequately constructed silos.
